ID3 tags and BEXT Headers

Please be aware that mp3 ID3 tags and BEXT headers have the following limitations:

On ID3 tags:

• Keywords are limited to 300 characters (auto-trimmed to end of last keyword ending at under 300 characters, so that a partial keywords isn’t included at the end of this field)

On BEXT headers:

• Track Description is limited to 256 characters (auto-trimmed with ellipsis added to end)
• Originator is limited to 32 characters (auto-trimmed with ellipsis added to end)
• Keywords are limited to 300 characters (auto-trimmed as per ID3)

MP3 and AIFF ID3s use the following fields form metadata:

• Album artwork
• Track title
• Album name
• Composer
• Track description
• Track number
• Genre
• Artist
• Copyright
• Album Release Date
• Keywords
• Version
• BPM
• ISRC
• Publisher
• Instrumentation
• Lyrics

WAV files use the following fields in BEXT header:

• Track title
• Album Name
• Track number
• Album release date
• Genre
• Artist
• Track description
• Copyright
• Keywords
• Originator name
